INTRODUCTION

Les constitutions de l’Union des Comores depuis 2001 répondent parfaitement à cet objectif. Dans ce contexte politique et social, l’union nationale pour juguler la crise n’est pas réalisable. Chacune des factions qui divisent la classe politique se contente de pointer un doigt accusateur à l’autre au lieu de prêcher l’amour et la solidarité. Or « Aimer n’est pas se regarder l’un l’autre, c’est regarder ensemble dans la même direction » (Antoine de Saint Exupéry).

La formation historique de la nation

Le prince Omar ben Abubacar, cadi de Mayotte, a écrit dans sa chronique qui date de 1864 que la première famille installée d’une manière définitive aux Comores est formée de deux Arabes venues d’un pays de la Mer Rouge avec leurs femmes, leurs enfants et leurs domestiques après la mort du prophète Soulaymana ibn Daoud, que le salut soit sur eux deux. Les deux familles s’étaient établies à Ngazidja.

Selon les écrits arabes et grecs avant et au début de l’ère chrétienne, les Arabes de Sofala (1) appelaient Kumr toutes les terres situées au large de la côte orientale africaine, c’est-à-dire Madagascar et l’ensemble des îles du Canal de Mozambique. Selon Yaqût al-Hamawi (1179-1229), dans son « Livre des pays[1] », le mot kumr signifie une forte lumière. La succession de deux consonnes rendait la prononciation difficile et les marins arabes ont ajouté la voyelle a, au cours des ans et le nom est devenu Kamar[2]. C’est beaucoup plus tard à partir du XVIe siècle que le nom Kamar devenu Comore sur les cartes des navigateurs portugais[3] désigne seulement l’archipel formé des quatre îles, Maore, Mwali, Ndzuani et Ngazidja.
